Gmail not downloading substance of messages on android

This is a very common troubleshooting tip. While it may sound a bit silly, it very often works! You can do this by pressing and holding on to the power button. Then press the Restart option. Obviously, you can also go all the way and shut the phone down and then turn it back on.

For me, the options seem to be Sync 4 days or sync all. Considering that I doubt it will ever download all the messages in my Sent folder, I'm prettty sure Calum is correct and it will only download messages when you go into that folder. That's weird, I definitely have a "sync none" option for each of my Gmail labels.
